115 Years of
Empowering the Girl-Child
Founded in 1910 by Christian Missionary Society (CMS) missionaries and championed by the visionary Omukama Daudi Kasagama Kyebambe IV, Kyebambe Girls' Secondary School has stood as a beacon of excellence for over a century. Originally named Tooro Girls School, the institution was renamed in 1941 to honour the king who passionately advocated for girl-child education.
Proudly affiliated with the Church of Uganda, we are a fully residential boarding school hosting over 1,000 students from across Uganda and beyond — nurturing them into confident, God-fearing, and globally competitive women.
A Message from Our Headteacher
Welcome to Kyebambe Girls' Secondary School — The Star Empire. For over 115 years, we have been privileged to nurture some of Uganda's most remarkable women. Our school is more than an institution; it is a family, a home, and a launching pad for greatness.
At Kyebambe Girls', we believe every young woman carries within her the seed of extraordinary potential. Our mission is to water that seed with quality education, deep Christian values, and an environment where each girl is safe, seen, and challenged to excel.
Whether your daughter aspires to be a surgeon, a diplomat, an engineer, or an entrepreneur — The Star Empire is the place where her journey to the top begins. Our dedicated staff, modern digital labs, vibrant co-curricular life, and the spiritual anchor of St. Elizabeth Chapel all work together to shape not just scholars, but whole, purpose-driven young women.
I invite you warmly to walk with us on this journey of empowerment, excellence, and faith.

Why Kyebambe Girls'?
A Legacy of 115 Years
Since 1910, Kyebambe Girls' has been the cornerstone of female education in Western Uganda. Founded by CMS missionaries and elevated by the vision of King Daudi Kasagama Kyebambe IV, our institution has consistently produced Uganda's finest women — from cabinet ministers to airline CEOs, from diplomats to pioneering surgeons.
Our History
Christian-Centred Education
Our faith is not an afterthought — it is the foundation. The magnificent St. Elizabeth Chapel, commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni, stands at the heart of our campus as a daily reminder of our spiritual calling. Affiliated with the Church of Uganda, we nurture God-fearing young women who are as strong in character as they are brilliant in mind.
About Our Faith
All-Girls Environment
Research consistently shows that all-girls schools produce more confident, ambitious, and academically successful women. At Kyebambe Girls', our students are free from gender stereotypes — they lead every club, captain every team, debate every debate, and code every program. The Star Empire cultivates champions.
